Description | Dance, Music, & Drama Dance Repertory Company, (DRC), DeKalb School of the Arts’ dance touring company presents “When I Dance…” featuring the school’s top ancers performing a variety of dance styles. This year, the company showcases choreography by professionals including Emily Stein, former Associate Director of Chicago’s Zephyr Dance and Atlanta choreographer and audience favorite Marci Lefkoff. Also Anna Dunn “holds out for a hero” in her tribute to the princesses of ballet in her “Forever Princess” and DRC director Dean Williams’ piece features music from Cirque du Soleil. Not only do our dancers, dance, they also choreograph! These talented young people have created new and exciting choreography in ballet, modern and jazz. “When I Dance…” will premiere September 28-30, 2012 in the Kyle Theater on the campus of DeKalb School of the Arts in Avondale Estates, GA. Also performing that weekend will be DSA’s award winning show choir Highleit, the Drama Ensemble presents Neil Simon’s “The Good Doctor" and the instrumental music department features vocal and instrumental ensembles, ProArte, the DSA String Quartet and more.
