Description | Newnan Theatre Company is excited and ecstatic to present the fantubulous hit musical SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL as the first production in our 35th Anniversary Season! Performance dates are August 30, 31 and September 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 2012. Performances run Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 3 pm. Tickets are $14 for Adults, $12 for Students/Seniors and $8 for Children (12 and under.) ALL SEATS ON THURSDAYS ARE JUST $7! Now one of the most performed shows in America, SEUSSICAL is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge--not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. . The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. SEUSSICAL is fun for the whole family! Audience members of all ages will be excited to see the characters from the familiar Dr. Seuss fables brought to life on stage! SEUSSICAL is directed by NTC's Managing Director, Dave Dorrell, and features choreography by Emily Moore and Vocal Direction by Erin Walton. | |
